Who are the Hornchurch Hammers?
|
World Cups, Euros, Olympics, Ashes tours - No matter what sporting event, the almost inevitable crossed Hammers/Hornchurch flag is there. I've even started looking out for it!
Watching the swimming a few days back and there it was. All alone. These lads must be minted.
Question is... WHO are they?!? And do they come on here? And if yes, room for one more???

Rio 2016: Hornchurch flag causes Twitter stir after being spotted at Olympics
A Hornchurch flag has been seen flying proudly in the stands at the Olympics during the past week, causing a commotion on Twitter back home.
Do you know who owns the flag? Get in touch with @romfordrecorder or email laura.burnip@archant.co.uk

Lovely fella Paul, do not be surprised if he is back for tonight's game if he isn't I would be amazed if he is not in Romania.
I went to his 40th which had a mixture of his West Ham mates, his England mates and his England cricket mates from all over the country.

''And do they come on here?''
There are only about 50 people on here so I'd say highly unlikely.
When you say it's a great lifestlyle and you are jealous etc, I'm not so sure. I would imagine that a lot of people could have gone to France for the Euro's, but didn't want to, I'm sure a lot of people could have gone to the Olympics but didn't want to, and so on...and maybe they never have regualr holidays like most people.

I'm almost certain that's it, but I suppose there are similar ones out there. Many moons and beers ago, so hard to be 100%.

The first one is the one that's been at the Olympics. It was in the background during the Kenny/Skinner medal ceremony.

I still wince at the memory of buying 3 lagers and a double vodka in Oslo once for the beautifully bargain price of 450k (£45).

I may be wrong, but the first link, where you have St George, with crossed hammers in one corner and the Union flag in another corner, could well be the one I hung up in Oslo.

Can you find a link to this flag Troy?
I wonder if it's the lads I met in Oslo when Englnad played here in Woy's first match.
If it's them, all I remember was there was a Paul from Hornchurch and a Paul from Benfleet in the group of 4 or 5 West Ham. They had, I think, a St George with crossed hammers in one corner and Hornchurch across the middle bar. They asked me to hang it up for them when they realised I'd be in the tier above the England fans. Good lads who bought my boyus programmes for the game.
Anyone who knows them, tell them thanks, and they're due a round from me.

I met him once but was so pissed out of my head I can barely remember what he said when I asked him the same question.
Sure he said he just had a successful business that was still reaping it's rewards, so he could swan off constantly while his employers make him more wedge.
Superb life, good luck to them.
